Its not that is going to be so much cheaper, you went over-kill on your turbo project which is a total different story.

I used to have a similar all motor setup, in a way I miss it as the car felt more go-kart like when driven. Just FYI, it would not hurt to shave it around .30/.40 to raise the compression a tad bit more, unless you are going to use the same CH for when you go turbo.

I have a extra clean shaven all the way to the bone that I prepped but never installed as I went turbo. The cylinder head I think is shaven to .65, port and polish in CA. It is so much shaven an extra head gasket must be installed for clearance.

The head is shaved to the minimum, ported and polished, I know what I'm doing too

it's all good. So did the GTX intake manifold worked good with the rest of the engine build?

why does no one ever listen to me about the GTX manifold..... its a paperweight. only good for festiva/aspire guys who actually need the clearance-firewall & are too cheap/unable to build a manifold.

the NA manifold actually has & utilizes a dual plane runner system. the GTX manifold is single plane short runners on a tin can.

you'll lose ALOT of torque & overall drivability. running the gtx manifold instead of keeping your NA one.

Yup you've better off using the N/A manifold... there's a reason for it being bigger you want the long runners so that the air can build up velocity. The GTX manifold has short runners cause the turbo is what gives it the velocity and doesn't need long runners...

Isn't the GTX manifold the lemon of the bunch with the design that leans out cylinder 3? They fixed that on the GTR with properly placed baffles.

I have the GTR manifold, the engine loses on the low end, but the top end is sweet.

Like mentioned before, I had it with my all motor setup and always worked well, in fact I miss the top end grunt from naturally aspirated, but then again I welcome with a red carpet the boosted power.

Like I showed a few weeks back on a video clip, the car runs perfect at 10 psi with 10@1 on 87 - 93 octane using either or, NGK5-6-7, depending on how I trim the AFM and APEXi. IMO the GTR is worth every penny, the design was intended for turbo applications while the big dual runner plenum is a monster set for naturally aspirated engines. All I know whenever I had the dual runner plenum the engine tended to blow 1 and 4 consistently. Now with the GTR I have been monitoring spark plugs and they all look exactly the same, during idle and even after a quick pass and removing them to check how it burns fuel.

There is a reason why that manifold was used for rally racing applications, all I know it works fine on my setup. Regardless of what others say, I will never go back to that monster of a long runner plenum.

If there is a manifold proven to be good is the one from the Kia Sephia 95-98, but such a statement is not well accepted in forums like this, but it has been proven back home in PR. I remember many years ago when I showed up to this forum and mentioned about the Kia transmission and everyone laughed at me. Check now, everyone looks for them like gold, but thats how this forum is...
