I'll be out working on it tonight, I'll get some pics up. I'm using it for the rear half of an AWD setup but mounting should be the same. Are you going to go Torsen?

you're going to break that rear end with a quickness. use one from a TII instead.

I'm aware of that. I think I will weld up the open diff that I got until I run into a Turbo II LSD. Does it use the same axles?

Dunno, check MT.net. The diff itself isn't the only weak point though, there've been a few guys who broke the housing too, that's why they swap the whole assembly over.

Pretty much my dream mx-3, best of luck with it. I'm sure it will be a better job than the 13b mx3 anyway

Save yourself the trouble and swap in a ford 8.8" rear from a lincoln mk8. There are kits to swap them in to a miata so should be straight toward. Also factory five racing makes axle for there irs cobra kit car that are the correct size for the miata which should be the same width as an mx3.

Wow I can't wait to see this! The only flaw I see is the Miata rear end. 400+ HP will shatter the Miata center section into 10 million bits. Could upgrade the Miata piece with a RX-7 or T-bird center section though. I must have a LS powered something too. $500 engine = 325HP + Cam + springs = over 400HP. I was dreaming of a LS powered Nissan Skyline just this morning LOL Hot Rod Magazine had a 4.8l LS truck engine making 1200HP with a couple ebay Turbo's with the stock bottom end. They thought it was a 5.3L but latter learned it was a 4.8L (on their blog).

                              4 pages and im confused.

                              your building a miata, rx7 or mx3?

and then your putting the chevy stuff in? regardless have fun with it. your projects as always fun to follow

my buddy did the ls1 swap in his 240. thought it was gona be cake looking at everything out of the car but then when it came down to making it fit/work right he had to cut firewall, trans tunnel etc etc sure wasnt really worth it after you added up all the cost/time off work but sure was a cool car, but definitely not something you would DD. just too crazy / loud. he says he will just buy a used vette next time round lol
