Ryan, are you trying to shield your radiator from heat with these shields? Reflecting is only going to get you so far with how close you are to the rad.

You need to get that manifold and turbo coated, and wrapped. And/or figure out a way to get that radiator farther away.

    Build looks awesome, though! :D

    Comment

for the cost of coating i can't see justification in doing that to this manifold.
shielding some of the heat from the radiator as well as keeping it more contained is my overall goal

      ps: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~roll cage!!!

hey just my 2 cents, but aren't there rads that are only half as wide with multiple cores you could install on the opposite side of the exhaust mani?

Honda Civic radiators ^^ dual cores are like $90-100 shipped on ebay, or 3 cores around $160. That's the last resource in my mind though, should try to have as big of a radiator as possible.

Is it impossible to customize a radiator, or just unthinkable?

                            Nothing wrong with a well-built half-width radiator.

It would be more ideal than what you've got going on right now, at least.

Bump that custom radiator up to a priority. No amount of shielding is going to do you enough to make fabbing it up worth it with how little clearance you've got there man.

^ i believe your overly concerned.... i have managed a good inch+ to the manifold
short of that, no half sized radiator will cool this motor. theres just not enough compacity or surface area to cool the liquid without a fan continuously running & even then its risky
