You can still start it without a radiator. Just to see what happens.

you know, The thought crossed my mind before... with a custom radiator, what's gonna happen if it gets a puncture somewhere down the road? How long will you be down with no rad, or are you going to make a second as a spare?

a second/spare would be a great idea. idk how practical it is @ the same time tho.
i need to find out where to get a custom radiator made up. but also figure out what dimensions/placement id like to utilize.
i want maximum cooling compacity/efficiency for what space is available. It ran hot before- im sure it'll be a bit toastier with a slightly bigger motor

My uncle has had radiators built by both 'Be Cool' and 'Afco' for his '79 nova. first one was made by be cool, but when he upgraded to a different cooling system, he went with afco. He loves the afco.

im pretty sure dan sac and deaone both are using off the shelf premade radiators from either jegs or summit.

expensive, but you can get EXACTLY what you want:

Just a few I had saved when I was looking into the same thing for my project.

A spare would be ideal, but radiators tend to get beat up fast when they sit.

be cool has a bunch of sizes, I remember looking at them for when I wanted to do a KL swap a few years back.

Also ya, dansac and deeaone used griffin radiators iirc.

do what i did. make one out of wood in the dimentions you need and place the inlet and outlets where you want them. then take that to a rad shop and tell them to make it in that spec.

forked out $117 to have the radiator professionally repaired (no warranty/looks like ****--- but holds up to 30 psi[tested])

A few coolant minor leaks due to crappy clamps or in one case non existent

potentially a oil leak @ the oil pan surface. either that or the oil cooler gasket @ the block.

                          But..........
