so i pulled the engine last night... i need to install my billet oil pump gears and replace a couple of gaskets.

i have another stock BP kicking around that we will be using for the fabrication work, i'll simply swap back after that's all complete.

as expected it mates up perfectly with my fwd E153 trans. the only thing that appears to differ is the clutch slave cylinder... i may have to trim a small corner off of the plate to make it clear.

today i ordered some brand new 600cc deatschwerks injectors from boundary-engineering, and some universal poly bushings to fit inside 1.5" DOM tubing for my new custom engine mounts. i bought four bushing sets just in case we have time to (or need to) redo the passenger side mount.

i'm about to place an order with an online toyota dealer for a teeny speedometer drive component, throwout bearing, and some transmission seals. i already have some billet oil pump gears from boundary-engineering, which will hopefully be going in at the same time as the rest of this stuff.

What did the tubing and bushings run you? I picked up a set of these lowering shackles off the shelf at autozone for $30. Going to press the bushing out, mod as needed, and then reassemble. Should get the job done.

BTW: I have a new set of those Billet oil pump gears for sale if you want to keep a spare set on hand.

the DOM is gonna be supplied by the shop where we are building the mounts... at whatever the going rate is for 6" of the stuff lol.

btw here's an update:
engine/trans/etc is out of the car
another flywheel has been machined to clear adapter plate, but still needs to be resurfaced. the flywheel that was in the car was destroyed in 3k miles...
car has been moved to the shop

next up...
-tomorrow i will spend some time with the GTR motor. I need to install the oil pump gears, which will probably take at least a few hours as i am a picky SOB. leaking oil pan gaskets are no fun. then i'm swapping distributors (piece of cake). lastly i need to take some very fine emery paper to the injector bores on my fuel rail to try and smooth them out. the machine finish is a bit rough and ive had a lot of issues with tearing o-rings while installing injectors.

-tuesday i am bringing a spare BP long block to the shop, along with the adapter plate and E153. during the day ill be working on getting the two aquainted with each other... cutting bolts to the correct lengths etc. once i get them bolted together we'll start things off by making the intermediate shaft bracket, then i'll get things hanging in the engine bay and go from there. i'm REALLY hoping that the engine/trans wont be too wide to drop straight down into the engine bay. i'll probably have to take the crank pulley off to help achieve this.
