in other news, i am hoping to have the plate in my hands by the end of next week. i have the week of labor day scheduled off from work (has been for months) so the timing seems to have worked out just perfectly!

so this project has finally picked up a little pace...

yesterday i finally paid for my toyota adapter plate

today i ordered some brand new 600cc deatschwerks injectors from boundary-engineering, and some universal poly bushings to fit inside 1.5" DOM tubing for my new custom engine mounts. i bought four bushing sets just in case we have time to (or need to) redo the passenger side mount.

i'm about to place an order with an online toyota dealer for a teeny speedometer drive component, throwout bearing, and some transmission seals. i already have some billet oil pump gears from boundary-engineering, which will hopefully be going in at the same time as the rest of this stuff.

conveniently, the guy doing the fab work for the mounts is someone i see often. we've been discussing designs for the new engine cradle this evening. i think we may try to incorporate a crosspiece that connects the ends of the K-frame together, like the mazdaracer bar except welded directly to the engine cradle with some gussets. this way it would be even stronger and more stable, and wouldn't reduce my ground clearance at all. it would also make it really easy to add a thin aluminum or plastic pan under the whole engine bay, to help keep things clean. what do you guys think of this idea?

if you do ever offer one of these kits or even the adapter plate i'm getting at least one....and putting it in my 1998 Pro...Those 2nd gens get no love and are basically the same car with nicer style!

If you're going to be driving this on the street when it's finished I wouldn't add new plates underneath without doing a bit of testing first to see how it changes under hood airflow. If you really want to design an undertray, I have one of the same gauges they use for testing you can borrow.

I'm already saving my money here for the adapter. My clutch it slipping now and my second gear synchro is hating on me.. This mod is probably next in line.
