finally finished the rear disk brake swap. Took me three weeks but it is done now. Starting out just changing springs and I broke a brake line so I thought it would be easier just to swap to disk. It runs good but I need to hook up the wideband to the ecu should help out with gas mileage if I can keep my foot out of it. Stupid wax valve in the idle air control is done for causing it to idle funky. Thinking about making a block off plate for it. Alslo the Wheel hop is driving me nuts hopefully getting in my subframe brushings will fix that problem

well the plan is to use vht black paint. The ceramic coating would be nice but I don't want to spend the money. The pipe in the manifold is schedule 40. Also I want to keep my tial wastegate and it isn't v band. Although I may use a v band on the downpipe. The wastegate will exit at the side and dump to atmosphere. More to come I have lots of parts waiting to be installed with the new block.

just FYI, you might want to leave at least 18" of clearance between the gate outlet and **** that might catch fire.

Just got the three hole bumper. I may go with a protege slant hood and headlights if I can get it to fit. Otherwise I will use tracer headlights and grill or protege square headlights. I really like the edm foglight grill but I am not sure it will keep enough air cirulating through the engine bay.Manifold and exhaust housing painted. Got my gtx head milled not want I really want but it will do for now.Click image for larger version

the GTX/R head design is actually really awesome. IMHO better then the NA design.
knock those crap stock valves out & replace them with +1mm SS valves........ or at very least clean them up properly.

add somender grooves & take down the exhaust short side radius wall. that minor port work alone will significantly reduce spool time.

wow great work can't wait to see this up and running. Where are earth did you find a 3 hole bumper? does that fit right up to the escort or do you have to modify it?

I thought that it's long been known the NA head is better for high RPM/big turbo applications???

^ actually..... its been tested & only makes a difference when you start breaking 300hp. & from then out its not necessarily a critical difference even.
considering the combustion turbulence benefit caused by that hump. your bottom end & spool times are noticeably improved. not to mention it helps MPG.

if your daily driving the car id stick with a gtx/r head. if its a track demon only. then ditch the BP05 head for a BP4W or VVT version of the BP4W head.
90% of the people boosting these cars won't ever reach the 300+ range so i don't really see the point....

It was for sale on here. it will bolt I on but I am not sure what lights and grill I am going to use. I want to try and make a 94 protege hood fit so I can have slant headlights we will see how that works out as the protege hood isn't supposed to bolt on. I may also replicate a edm foglight grill. Also I have plans to use hella 450 foglights in the 3 hole bumper.

True....... I had a t3/t4 with a 82 comp wheel & .48 turbine wheel. I was told that I would see full boost @ 5k rpm prior to installing it on my stock bpt. It started to build boost @ 3k rpm & made full boost no later than 4k rpm. I do agree with you that the gtx head help with spooling a big turbo sooner.
