i know what mls means.. i work at a speed shop.. ive built 800hp motors... im more of a v8 guy.. ive never seen them for a mazda and ive looked..


are you guys for setain that i can swap the bp stuff over if so i might go ahead and order pistons and rods this weekend.

this is a stock 5.0 that i build for my buddy.. all it had was a baby .480 cam, 410 gears and i turbo kit i built one weekend... cast heads , stock intake and everything else.. it went a 11.80 on 8" slick 7 psi and no tune...

really? I know the GTX runs lower c/r than the n/a BP...but you think they're b8 pistons in a GTX?

so are we for setain.. i bp rod and piston well work ? i found a site that had cheap bpt pistons. so i might get them and a cheap set of rods.. but need to clear it up first.. what does the compression go to on the sohc? did anyone find s multi layer head gasket for these cars yet.. im making a list now.. so i can order it all

The only way you're not going to get a MLS headgasket is if you order a lazer cut copper one, and you'd know if you were about to buy one or not ($$$). All stock replacements for the BP are MLS.

feel free to post a link to these "bpt" pistons, as it'd odd to find them under that listing in north america, usually listed under the Miata 1.8, or n/a FWD BPs.

if you are really so uncertain about it, go to the junkyard and tear down a b8 and a bp, and see for yourself the differences, and what mixes, because i guarantee damn near all of it will jive, as far as internals go.
and like jack mentioned, the only way you will not get an MLS gasket is if its a thick ass copper gasket, and them things are even more spendy than the stock mls stuff.

raced a mustang gt last night with exhaust and stuff that went a low 14 @96mph.. and i put a car and a half on him.. so i was right.. my car is about a high 13 with around 101 trap.. and its still untuned and runnning rich as hell. and i raced a camaro z28 and blew its doors off. tryed to get a cobalt to race but he wouldnt ,,, might be runnning a evo tonight.. so well so how she holds up..
