Nope there was no sign that it was about to go, no noises, no vibration, nothing
When it let go, it wasn't gradual, it was "bang" back tires locked instantly.... Then I slid to a stop.... Which i was on a snow covered road and the back end was sliding all over the place, but at least I was slowing down anyway and was at around 60km/h when that happened
I had no choice but to jack up the car, pull the driveshaft out so I could pull the car home with a chain, that was the only way to free up the rear wheels so I could flat tow it..... So yes, I am 100% sure the rear diff/brakes are not to blame
When I got it home, it moved under its own power with only the front wheels hooked up
There's no doubt in my mind it's the tranny
