When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

the kl-ze is a higher compression different intake different cams, different heads ass well its a 200hp engine with 197ft or torgue(a monster) but belioeve it or not the kf-ze has the most agressive cams out of the k-series engine, if you where to throw kf cams on a kl-ze or kl-de you would gain no lie about a good 10hp

Ok well I have the kl-de from a probe GT with all the wiring and ecu. i was wondering if i can use that wiring harness when swapping that motor into my escort. And if i need something different what is it??

i have been told you also need the probe/mx6 front springs. cause the motor is heavier and is too much weight for the stock Protege springs.

all you need is the wiring harness from the mx3 you can use the probe but trust me you will be doing alot of wiring and guessing game, as for the springs you don't need to put no probe or mx6 springs because the engines is actually lighter then the bp, the stock springs will do fine with it,

Ok for the wireing is all i need it the engine wiring harness or do i need all the wireing under the hood that has to do with the engine i.e engine harness and fuse box ect... or just the engine one??

you need all the wiring under the hood that goes from the ecu to the engine including the fuse box, remember to use the ecu off the probe or mx6 which ever car you got the engine from and the air flow meter from there as well, don't use the mx3 ecu for that motor because it will run like ****, also you will need the crossmember, mounts, drive axles from the mx3 as well

would the KL (2.5) be a direct swap or will mount modding be needed?

It needs a few other parts to become a direct swap. like the tranny and crossmember off of a v6 mx-3. and some wiring will need to be done. ask urbanstyle he would know.

If you can, just get the whole subframe off a V-6 MX3

I remember reading somewhere that the V6 actually weighs less than the BP. I think it was about 18 lbs less due to the aluminum block vs. the BP cast iron.

                        Anyone else remember this?

subframe??? the piece the bottom mounts bolt to?......so if i toe a mx-3 (asuming thats what the 2.5L comes from)home from the junkyard that has the ass end or side smashed in, as long as it works i just pull the motor and tranny, raidiator, wiring harnes, and ecu and swap them into my pro?

or is there wiring harnes wire splicing that must be done?

ok look, all you need from the mx3 is the parts listed:
                            crossmember
                            drive axles(all 3 of them)
engine wiring harness from ecu to engine only!
                            all 4mounts
                            transmission,
as for the 2.5 engine that comes from a probe or mx6, the mx3 v6 is a 1.8 and thats a weak engine not worth swapping in
and thats it, the radiator on the protege is alot better then the mx3 because it alot thicker, thats all you need really to do the swap

So how much horsepower does the KF-ZE weigh??? What did it come out of??
Which would be a better swap the KF-ZE or the KL-DE? The KL-DE is just as easy to swap isn't it?

the 1.8 v6 was the only v6 that came stock in the MX-3 this I know.
the 2.0 and 2.5 came from 626's or MX-6 AFAIK.
