I would assume you could graft in a FWD frame rail thing. I think they are the same in that area unless I am mistaken. Or actually now that I think of it... It's not fixable. You should sell it for super cheap. To me. ONLY, to me.

Ian, I'm so sorry about that. I never took the bumper off to see that kind of damage. I'm going with cody on this, you can chop the front part and put in a fwd frame on that side. How far back is it bent? Just the front part before the core support? Or half way through the engine bay?

that is easily fixable from any competent shop, if you supply the rail section and bring it to them with all the accessory crap already unbolted and out of the way it really cuts down on cost.

as far as cutting the donor rail cut a goo 4-5 inches back from the bend so they have plentty to work with, sawzall does well for this type of work.

Dunno...could it b that due to the continuous suction / pressure over the past 20 years made the pick up bend upwards. This has happened to me before with another Protege and I simply changed the pump... this time I bent it and it works fine...

It's not your fault, I've been in the engine bay a couple times and am just now seeing the full extent. I don't think it's critical but I've never tried to fix something like this before. I'm gonna hit up some collision shops this week.

When ever I do this, I need to wire in my egt fog light switch.

FYI, I'm doing this bc one bulb blew out and it's no way to change the bulb. So if I gotta cut it, I might as well do something drastic. 😀

bare, they are 3.5 wide, 2 1/4 high and about 4 deep. The lens is only 2" wide

I plan on cutting the back off the housing and jb weld these on, angled correctly. See how these light up through the existing yellow lens. These are already the yellowish oem lens around.

then imma take some 2.5" pvc pipe, jb weld it do the housing and put a cap on it to seal the unit from moisture, dust and the elements. Plus it makes changing bulbs a breeze.

Sounds like a plan. Sorry about the lack of foresight on those bulbs getting changed. By the time I realized, it was too late. How's the "craftsmanship" holding up? It was my first major custom DIY replica part. I also had a spoiler kinda like Bo's that I DIY'd. Slowly I am collecting the oem parts that I was replicating back then, for if I ever acquire another 4wd.
