I have bought a few DNJ piston sets and never had a problem with them. You can try buying mazda OEM pistons.

I'd buy beck/arnley over DNJ at leas then you have a chance the parts aren't made in china.

Too bad they only have one piston in stock on rock auto.

Most definitely.

Bought them 2 months ago so they won't accept a return, but they're still covered under the 12 month DNJ warranty. I did see those beck arnley pieces, only manufacturer I recognized. I'll see what dealerships want for OE pistons if they can even find them.

I wonder how the warranty would go down if I ran the bum piston unknowingly. "Your product ruined my engine. Send me one of your $2500 long blocks for free."

I bet most anything they sell is manufactured in China anymore even if its an American company, and not everything from China is garbage anymore. Its getting better just like Hyundai and Kia got better.

BP05. I appreciate it but I'm going to stick with the DNJ pistons when the new set arrives. Dealership wants $400 for a set of 4 OE pistons.

Eh beck/arnley is a pretty good parts importer. I got some parts for them for a 4g63 build and they were the exact same as the OEM rods removed from the car.

My current stance is if the part moves or touches a moving part, and it takes more than two hours to replace it, I'm going to try and buy from a Japanese/American Country of origin.

I'll run $20 autozone Chinatown rotors into the ground but I'd be damned to put some pot metal bearings in to a car.


Hell I'd hop of this if I didn't have pistons already.

If you were not turbo I would recommend 2001+ Miata Pistons. 10:1 compression.

discovered on my way into Boston for a show that the combination of lights, stereo, the A/C cycling, and being stuck in traffic makes the alternator really unhappy. stereo shut off, one light shut off, car died and fired up on its own. welp ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
