Nice, now put an S15 front end on it.

Got a Miata sport rotor to mock up the Miata caliper bracket/spindle/caliper to make sure it will all work. Hit a roadblock with the caliper bracket fitment, but I found a way around it, and I will be returning the rotor, I can get them cheaper online. Also picked up 2, Jim Pierce tubular rear TTL's from JRally since he machined the spacers for them and mocked them up along with front MX3 TTL's and Jim Pierce rear crossmember.

I was pulling in the shop to put on my new tires and brakes and I heard a noise and coasted into the shop and I put on the brakes and tires and tried to pull out of the shop. Horrible noise. Fuxking dammit Click image for larger version

I took the 10 lb spring out and put a 16 lb spring in the wastegate. Also hooked my EBC up to the wastegate. Gonna take the car out later tonight to do some setting up/testing

Just took the wagon for its maiden voyage. Holy f. Learned a few things...

It runs/drives very well. No leaks, brakes and suspension work great, trans feels just as good as it did when it was in my MX3, Nothing goofy going on with the motor (except following issue)

I am hoping that the massive amounts of oil it's burning is due to the junkyard motor sitting for who knows how long, (except for the 2 minutes of runtime I previously recorded and posted) and that it will clear up. I should probably do a compression check.

It puts a smile from ear to ear on my face due to two reasons, the KL sound is amazing, and it has plenty of power compared to the 2 liter SPI.

So much power in fact, that when someone pulled their Jetta out in front of me and parked in the middle of the street, I was easily able to roast the tires past them to express my gratitude for their inconsiderable act, which bring us to our final point.

Cops like my car. He was just one block away from my noisy illegal action (even though this all happened on a closed course w/professional drivers of course.) I passed him, he pulled out, I knew I was toast. Flashed his lights, I pulled over, he comes up to the window... "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I giggled nervously and replied "because of the awful noise my car just made?" He then laughed and said "No, it actually sounds pretty good, what do you have under the hood?" me: "A 2.5L V6..." him: "You stuffed a v6 under the hood of this car? Well surely you know what exhibition of speed is, right?" Me- "Ooohhh, thaaaat. I'm an Idiot."

A few minutes later he returned, "You know in Denver, they would have you on the ground with guns drawn, tire roasting car with no insurance, expired reg, and plates that do not belong to it..." Me- "uhhh, yeaah... It wasn't a well thought out plan, but uh, the plates are mine at least..." Then I explained how I just got it running and what all was done while it was down, and pleaded that I just needed one quick shake down before making it legit. Had to make sure it really was ready to go.

He then smiled and said "Well, from your record it looks as if you've never been given a break, tonight is lucky for you. I like this thing you've built, whatever it is. Get it home, get it insured and registered, and take the burnouts to the track. Don't make me regret giving you a break, I'm in this area all the time, and this car is distinct. Be safe." and he walked away!

Wow, Lucky... It was fun, and Monday I'm gonna go make it legit so I can take it for a better shake down!

Also, Ben, if you're reading this, I am going out to the shed now to dig for those LCA brackets. I'll pm you.

Secret: You are supposed to tighten nuts after you put them on. Had it been tight, it would not have come loose, ever. The staking is called "Moron double backup". Note that wheel nuts don't have that, but there's more of them.

                          Today was ventilation day.

First project was to install EDM cabin vents. The left side couldn't have been easier. For the right side I had to remove the whole dash, which took all day, of course. I got it done about 45 minutes ago.

Second project was to clean all the crap out of my evaporator so I can get some air flowing through the system. I did that while I had the dash apart.

That was a lot of work. I think it will be worth it though. Also, I now know how to remove a dashboard intact, so when I go looking for a dark gray interior I'll be able to take everything I need.

Yeah those right side vents are a serious pain. Well worth the effort though. Edm vents are a great upgrade.

All because of those three screws that hold the plastic trim from the back. I left those off, so if I need to take them out again for cleaning or whatever it will be much easier. Well worth it indeed. Especially with actual airflow through the system. There was a long abandoned mouse nest in my evaporator. Couldn't get anything through it before.

Nine screws for a piece of plastic that does nothing and takes no stress. How rediculous is that!

I'm having kind of a weird problem. My brakes seem to be dragging lightly, like making a chick, chick noise relative to rotation speed that goes away as soon as the brakes are applied. Sometimes they will stick a little harder then usual and throwing it in reverse for 10' or so seems to un-fetch them. Yesterday I took a look to lubricate the sliders but they were already fine, I added some lube just to be safe and did any other movement points while i was there. Using a pry-bar I was able to push the piston into the caliper as per usual.

Figuring none of that seemed to be the problem I also took the rotors off and knocked off the rust build up around the parts the pad doesn't touch. I went for a quick test-drive and the noise seemed to be gone, on my way to work this morning it stayed silent as well but on my way home the noise came back just as bad as before as if I'd never touched anything.

Any ideas anyone? I'm all out.
