Yes that can be done no problem, and I would imagine you will at least need the lower collars since I doubt you have anything that will thread onto the sleeve.

I've got a bunch of GC collars, but I'm not sure if they are the same thread. If we are switching to 2.25" springs then I will need collars for sure.

Even if they don't, it's something that can be made up quite easily.

I have GC stuff here and the collars are cut with square threads plus the diameter of the GC stuff is larger than 55mm

Koni makes decent 2.25" collars as far as i know.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. If the housings are the same thread size as Ksport housings then they have a swaybar endlink collar that threads on as well.



My current setup uses a FSB attached to the strut so that makes it easy to keep the same design.

Yeah the more i think about this, the more the MX6 needs something like this. I'm a little bummed out on the whole "not compatible with 2.5" GC setup" thing, but i'll live.

MX6 is destined for OLOA, so a suspension that doesn't suck would be a good thing.

I think there is some confusion here. The retrofit sleeves will be M52x1.5 only allowing a K-sport owner to retrofit to Koni's, so if you want to run the swaybar collars pictured, you would have to buy the lower mounts, collars etc.... from K-Sport. The kit I am having made will be made for M55x2.0, so you wouldnt be able to just buy that collar from K-sport and have it work. The only way for this to work would be to buy the K-Sport collar and send it to me, then when I am ready to send the parts to them to build off of I will send that piece with it and they can make some in M55x2.0 so if you or anybody else wants to run this setup they can do so.

The M52x1.5 sleeves will be stainless steel. The M55x2.0 sleeves will be aluminum

You can run 2.5 on this setup as well even though its made for 2.25" I specified the OD of the spring perches large enough to accomodate the larger spring so you can have the choice of what you want to run.

The swaybar collars are available for other sizes/threads.

Cool beans on the spring size. Doesn't matter a whole lot unless it could use GC collars. But if you're supplying collars, it doesn't matter at all so i was being bummed for no reason.

I am sure it has camber adjustment in the front so it would be easier to just take all the measurements from one already made than try to come up with one from scratch based off a stock mount. If we have to use stock mounts then I could rob them off the mx6 I having sitting here at my house.

I can probably fab a set of endlink collars myself if I just get an extra couple of spring perches. I'll turn them down flat with my lathe and weld a tab on.

Well, the thing is that the KSports i have (If i didn't throw them out) are for a 2nd gen MX6. If i'm going to do this, i'd rather use 1st gen stuff so i'm not fighting different strut angles and stuff like the 2nd gen stuff gives.

I'm guessing either way, i'd be on my own for the strut mounts?

I'm thinking you would need the dimensions of the lower strut "ears" that go over the spindles?

Then.... ideal length of whole housing?

I was referring to the upper k sport strut tower mounts, are they the same between 1st and 2nd gen?

I have an 88 MX6 sitting at my house and it's a parts car anyway so I can rob parts off of it and get everything measured for you. I will ultimately have to send the parts to the manufacturer so they can do their own measuring, since my measurements are only for getting a detailed quote.

They're not the same between 1st and 2nd gen.

What i CAN tell you is that 1st gen MX6 fronts are the same as FC RX7 fronts, but with an 8mm stud instead of the 6mm RX7 stud.

And 1st gen MX6 rears are the same as S13 chassis FRONTS.




KSport does have them for all 4 corners for 1st gen MX6, though. If that helps.

That is all very interesting. I will just measure and use the parts from this car out here in my yard then. Just to make sure, are their any dimensional differences between the electronic suspension cars and the one without? This one has it.

No. There were like... 8 different sets of springs used on these cars depending on options, but i don't care about all that.

Honestly in my case... shorter everything wouldn't be a terrible idea. I run my car rather low.

Each sleeve will be approx 7mm taller than the insert, so 297mm and 339mm for each one. This comes out to about 1/2" longer than the front k sport shock body and about 1" shorter than the rear K-sport shock body.
