I got an estimate made by the auto body shop for the insurance claim. It totalled $1,800 aprox., with OEM parts. This 27th the insurance adjuster will see both cars and determine the amount that they'll give me for the repairs. Hope I get the full $1.8k!

Update:

I went this past Friday to the insurance. To make a long story short, the that hit my car is a freaking He didn't want to take full responsibility for hitting my car, telling the adjuster some bs about that he was forced by another car to go to the sidewalk, so it wasn't his fault Then the adjuster told us that since he (the other guy) has told more than one version of the accident, I had to bring a copy of the police report to state who was responsible of the crash. If the report had the data of a third car, then my claim would have to be closed You can all imagine how pissed off i felt, and told her if that's the case, I'll sew him for sure.
I went to the police's regional command center and picked up the report. For the guy's luck (specially mine) there wasn't any info of a third car and he acted recklessly and negligently went to the sidewalk.
I'm waiting for the result (and my check) in the mail, so that guy will have to kiss my

Gald your going to get some resolve, i hate snakes who can't take responsibility. your situation reminds me of the time i was hit & the guy ran, i had to chase them down & litterally pull the keys out of the car while he was trying to drive away

Thanks bpt323. When the car was a mere three months with me, an idiot on an old BMW 3 series hit me on the front, ripping off the front bumper, lh headlight & corner assy. The douche bag was on two wheels when he hit me and almost hit a parked truck, the lucky bastard, and when I began to pursuit him, the bumper got stuck underneath the car and couldn't chase him down. Several months later, I saw him on a big traffic jam and tried to take his plate #, but he recognized me and almost sheeted himself when he saw me trying to lurk behind him and he cut between the traffic heading to an industrial area with a Costco in front. I loled when I saw his face :D

In other news, still no word from the ins. and I barely drive it. I don't think I'll keep the car anymore. Only time will tell if I'll fix it and sell it or sell/trade it like it's now. I got an offer for it as is for the 01 Tib I mentioned in other thread, bec the guy needs a four door for the kids.

The check arrived yesterday, but only of $1,100. I don't think I'll fix it. The whole situation just made me not want to keep the car much longer. Time to look @ the classifieds for a new DD if the Tib is not to my liking.

Well one day when i arrived late to work....i worked maybe 20-30mins before i decided that i was hungry. So I walk out from behind the counter to place my order. As I wait in line I study my car through the window. I had just washed it so it showed many reflections some looked a little suspicious. i waited about five more minutes then finally i decide to walk outside to check it out....and sure enough one of the customer had backed in to my front right corner. Caving that whole side of the bumper leaving my reflector and headlight dangling and of course they were long gone leaving me with a ****load of damage to pay for out of my pocket. o yea and my insurance wouldn't pay for it because i only had liability. lol wat a S**tty DAY

^ That really sucks man. People can be such as sholes.
I've been driving the car this past week and fell in love with it all over again. The marvelous handling, the comfortable seats, the great A/C and the fun of rowing the gears with that excellent shifter made me want to keep it and fix it. The other reason was that my boss has his car on the shop for a head gasket failure. Thank God I didn't trade the car or else I woul've been the one screwed in the hole for the fix, the head repair alone will run him $180!
