I built the extra input for the 4/1 CAS setting into his MS, so it should work fine. That's not really necessary at the moment though, if he's just using one coil. It can wait until after he figures everything else out.

Did you wire the MS directly to the coil, or are you going through the ignitor on the coil? If you're going through the ignitor, I'm pretty sure you CANNOT use inverted spark output. That would cause your crazy spark.

Also, you should set cranking advance to about 6 degrees. I don't know if 0 degrees is a valid input there. Having it set to fixed timing might override that setting though... I've forgotten.

i was still using the MS coil output for the #1 i just made a plug adapter from the ford coilpack plug & hooked up the stock coil. so i.e. MS is controlling the negative side of the coil.

i set the cranking advance to 0 so there was no interference trying to set the timing while cranking it. i'll change it back if i can get something solid.

So you've removed the ignitor on the stock coil?

Can you save a log of cranking the engine? If you do that then we can see if it's at least logging the correct RPM, meaning the CAS is working.

from what he told me it is logging RPM's in the mid 200's which sounds about right
