I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

Thanks for the help with the pic!
It's tricky with the mid-engine car/rear bulkhead...We moved the "X" up higher in the car to allow access to the engine hatch, and with the bulkhead we can't get a great angle on the kickers so they get moved down. The harness bar is actually going to go through the rear kickers and then turn back into the X!

Yes, you are going to HELL for mig welding a cage for a Ferrari... LOL I like the way the kickers turned out. What else could you do, besides cutting holes through the bulkhead and running them along side the engine. (not legal for the rules, right?) The most important job of a cage is protecting the driver, not making the car tank proof.

          Nice work, Jon R.

Shoot!!! I'm gonna need a priest then...
Harness bar!!! Another harness bar and a diagonal (that probably isn't doing much) and the back half will be done...

Ok-back half is done except for welding/ drilling out holes in the harness bar to weld in some threaded sleeves for eyebolts. We made a diagonal, but it's pretty redundant so we'll see...

Slowly but surely---we got harness mount threaded sleeves welded in the cage (2 hours worth of work!)

We're removing the single airjack that ferrari uses (bolts to the nosecone of the transmission and destroys said trans when car goes offtrack and the jack hits the ground!) and going to two airjacks at a safer location---using the daytona prototype airjacks (the teams spares...)

The front airjacks are bolted to the weak aluminum box section in the front and flex nearly 1/2" when used so we made a brace to add some support...

Cool stuff, air jack on the car... RaceShock put hydraulic long ram jacks on the off-road race car, something like 24" of stroke. It has to lift about 12" of suspension droop to get the tire off the ground.

The engine cover is accessed through the rear firewall cover located inside the car. Whenever anyone needs to work on the front of the engine they inevitably end up crushing the center console with their knees. We've built some support under there!!! It really is the little things...

Airjack cans/mounts---after removing 35% of the material---they're at a more reasonable weight...

                              kick ass!!

Personally, I find NO problem with mig welding at all. Hell, they used stick welders on heavier cars that were just as fast, back in the day... Why would anyone even think that there could be anything wrong with it?

Personally, I was just joking with Jim. If you've ever seen his cage work up close, it's a nice as any tig welded cage...
