do yourself a favor & use a K8 transmission, you'll much much rather enjoy the gearing due to the final drive. short of that, add a long .717 5th gear & it'll be exceptionally perfect.

did you run that gear in yours? how much does that drop rpms by?

the 4.3ish(k8) Vs the 4.10(kl) final drive makes a hell of a better driving experience with the v6.
the k8 5th gear is supposed to be the same as the kl. so there is a 2-300 rpm drop possible in the k8 trans, which would make it even more reasonable @ highway speeds

I have a civic Alum radiator on my bpt and it cools just fine, even when boosting.

for the price i got on the transmission, ill live with the final drive. lol

im thinking about just getting one of those civic half size rads with the slim fan that are all over ebay. i also have another slim fan off a camaro that im using with it. its meant to cool a 305 small block, so it should do just fine.

                          update:
i figured i would get up today and knock out the timing on the kl(it was badly off from the HG replacement). i almost get it on the last tensioner and pop, goes the belt. the inner threads started ripping, so now i need a new timing belt. klde timing = pain in the ass.

one quick picture of the trans though.

                                thanks man for the comment.

and jack, its called purple power! you should be able to find some up there somewhere.
i did put high heat silver paint on the trans after i cleaned it up though, still had some salt buildup that just wouldnt come off.
