took the horrible Nissan for a drive today, FINALLY.

front brakes are hanging up, e-brake cables were adjusted too tight, but the engine runs smoothly all the way up to 7200 (**** breaking in the flywheel) and it makes cool noises.

kind of into this ****pile again.

^ It could be worse, man. Although I knew it was comin, it still pains me to have to do it. As I type we are removing the perfectly good -*appearing* but 15 year old Goodyears and installing new Cooper Hercules, 6 @ 295/75R22.5 ... ouch ouch owie owie ouch

Geebus. Moby the Road Condo gave me a scare on the way back from the tire shop. After all fluid changes and checks and adjustments and more love and attention than I normally give to this sort of thing, I'm headin down the road and the frelling oilpressure idiot light comes on. Krap! But the guage reads normal. I park anyhow and see that yes martha the dipstick shows full. Head on out and a bit later it comes on again. Dammit! But I trust the guage more than the light. Get home, check with the intarwebs, and locate the sender. Finding it, I gave it a precise and highly trained technical tappytap with the box end of a 7/16"wrench. The idiot light went right out. It's important to have the right tool for the job at hand.

In a strange twist of fate, we managed to successfully tack weld that piece back on and grind off the **** that didn't line up with a wheel. Gonna throw the cam in with some lapping compound for awhile and call it good.

Even stranger, i brought the first trashed F2T head to the shop yesterday so they could cannibalize it of its delicious built valvetrain goodness, and they said it was also easily fixable, and would fix it for $Free.99.

So.. i guess i have two good F2T heads again.

In other other news, custom top hats for the Miata came in.

As did a fender roller so i can get some 17x10s under the MX6. Boss status.

And now, a peek into the bowels of a 220k mile F2T that has had a blown head gasket for at least 50k of that, and has swallowed a turbo or two. (This thing still ran like a damn top, i kid you not.)

              Dat carbon, tho.

Every one of those lines is a deep score. Cylinder #1 is identical in terms of ****ery.

Pretty much. I honestly want to throw one of the built heads back at it and get on the dyno and see what a damaged bottom like this will take. Pretty sure i was well over 300whp like this for awhile. Was trapping 116-118mph for awhile.

flipped the check valve for the booster and drove it to the emissions place with manual brakes. that sucked. the car passed somehow, so going to the DMV this week for real plates.

I put about 75 laps on the Kart today. Dad did another 70 and my little brother did 20. It was massively fun, and pretty reliable this time. I was the fastest racer on the track at any point today which is cool, especially considering the kart we bought is a beat to **** pile of broken junk. Thinking it may be time soon to invest in a lightly used shifter kart. I really enjoy driving this thing, tossing it into corners at rediculous speeds, power oversteer at 60mph+... The list goes on. By far the best bang for the buck Motorsport I've done. I've done probably 240+ laps at 40-47 seconds a piece, and I'm in it for less than $600 so far, including suit, gloves, helmet, badass neck brace, rib protectors, kart, parts, fuel and track time.

Pulled this thingy out as I snapped a stud off trying to fix a leak.

That's a funny looking thingy. Looks like it's saying "AHHH" at both ends. Snapped thingy studs are the worst. Leaks before thingy's suck too.

                            This escalated quickly.

Power NOTHING. Lost 20+ wires per door. At last count, i still have another ~60 wires to take out of the car.
