Destroyed a brand new steering rack in the name of science.

I'm getting ready to science the tar crap out of the time attack 1 - s/r build in prep for cage and stitch welding... Not really a protege, but not really not one either. Consensus? Should I post progress of that build in this thread or the BG thread, in addition to its work log of course.

Any way, I've decided to go a tad overkill and do 1-3/4"x.095" DOM for the cage. It only requires 1-1/2" since it will be far under 2500lbs, but since I want to run pikes peak at the limit, I'd like some extra cage around me for peace of mind.

Matt, I'll post here. Seems like it will fit in better here. You did pm me. I'll hit you up when I get home in a bit.

Ryan, 1 because I got a killer deal on a 1.75" die for my bender, and 2 with all the extra bracing I'll have, the marginal increase in tensile strength isn't worth the extra weight. 1.75x.095 is already overkill, and it will be over-engineered to err on the side of safety. I've done my research.

Lol, it wasn't cheap by any means, but better than the alternative for sure.

Made some more progress today. I'll start posting pictures tomorrow when there is more to see.
