well today i cut this off

of this (had a real rough edge)

so i can attach it to my port matched B code VAF

So it'll look something like this (needs cleaning and paint still!)

    little things help

well, apparently people don't know what an axle seal is...so I bought some paint and replacement fog light bulbs...turns out they're outdoor flood bulbs? weird

Here's the paint, still not sure what color white I'm going with...so that's on hold (engine bay is being rattle canned)

went to the wreckers today to grab a lower intake manifold for my friends Vulcan powered Probe, and found a 01+ Protege shift knob that I've been keeping my eye for! So my shifter assembly is complete! Boot lines up perfectly too

the top of the shift knob was warn out about 90%, so i just took the dremel to it, so now its 100%

pics tomorrow of my smelly clean parts

yea, its tough to find one with a good feel too it.

today i did lots of small jobs again lol

sanded, painted and assembled for a photo shoot...under hood color theme is flat silver and semi gloss black.

re-drilled and spaced the opening for the flying V symbol...grill just needs primer and paint now (not sanded down in pic)

also installed my new fog light bulbs and decided to paint the trim flat silver...looks better imo

smoothed out the internal welds in the turbo to IC pipe...also gave it a quick sand and spray, its semi gloss black.

repainted the DSM bypass valve ...painted was scuffed...hose will cover it tho lol

who said vinegar was only good on fries?

i've left some rusty cast iron stuff in a 70/30 solution of vinegar and water, and kept agitating the water every so often...the outcome was great, 80% of carbon was gone, 70% of the rust was gone too, only left with a light residue that seemed to come off with a rag and a wire brush!

here you can see most of the carbon loosened itself up, the rest came off with a quick scrub.

here's the manifold...it didn't look too bad in previous pics, but there was lots of build up and surface rust (its cast iron ffs)

currently painting them with flat silver VHT

ok well this is it for today, did LOTS of paint work today.

here's some of the turbo goodies, this is during its 2nd coat...forgot to snap pics of everything after VHT clear coat was layed.

some random brackets and such...they're low gloss black, same as OEM

also painted my valve cover...still have to sand the raised lettering

since i had the primer out...

that's it for today! tomorrow I get paid, so i'll be picking up some misc things.
