I would definitely prefer stock I just don't know if I'm down for the extra work.

Got the stereo all fixed up, pulled the 6.5 pioneers form the old pro for the front and used the old blown 7 inch speakers to make adapters by taking the center out with a cut off wheel. ALso fixed up the ground. Was going to switch the HU but the plug is slighlty different so I didn't bother. Sounds quite good, could use a little woofer but sounds pretty damn good anyways. Also threw the cherry bomb back on, the tones isn't too bad and its not loud at all with the rest of the exhaust almost stock so its the better of what a I own but a real exhaust needs to happen.

      Winter Mode:

I really need to do something about the way the tail lights don't line up up with the reflective thingy on the trunk. Its starting to really bother me, wish i had money for the insert CS sells.

I like the blue steelies. Your project is really coming along, it seems. Good job saving the car.

Thanks man, i was aiming for a slate blue but clearly but the wrong paint. Its grown on me though and I'm quite happy with it.

I was waiting outside my buddies house for him so we could go to school earlier and I smelled gas so I got out of the car and went to look around the filler neck and sure enough it had a wet spot. The weird thing is I then drove us to school and back and when I got home I checked again and no wet spot at all. Just doing my best to feel around and trying to look it seems like a skinny metal line right behind the wheel well that travels along side the other two form up by the fuel door, it then goes to hose which is connected to some plasticy feeling roundish thing which has another hose that goes down to the sub frame. Anyone know if this pipe part of the filler neck assembly or separate? Just want to know what I'm looking to buy.

i reccomend jacking up the car and examining it closer.
by nature the small lines on the gas tank and the filler neck both like to rust away to dust............

It looks like it actually broke where it connects to some sort of brace or something that holds the three smaller tubes together, I'll try and grab a pic right now and hopefully jack it up tonight or tomorrow.

Is that a line that would leak fuel? Its totally snapped right there has me wondering if maybe the inspection guy caught it with a stray hammer blow well testing the main filler pipe which he obviously looked at as it came back with a big clean spot.

appears as if its been broken for some timenow.
if memory serves right its sort of a vent. that might be the overflow portion too. idk

Hmmm, i don't think it would cause the leak if its overflow. The car was already down a 1/4 tank. Perhaps one of its neighbors is also broken or some thing. I'll have to get that closer look.

ya that's the expansion part of the tank. I'd check the back of the filler neck...mine looked fine from the front, but was completely missing the backside of it lol...my Canadian GT, not the current lol

                        Thanks I'll check that tomorrow.

Filler necks are damn expensive it seems. Anyone know a cheap source? Even OMP wants 150 and that's without shipping.

That's a good piece of information. I didn't know the Escorts had a better filler neck design...

It seems its actually cheaper to buy one form a local radiator place. It seems to be the pipe on the left in this pic, is that considered part of the fuel neck if I order one?
