I remember hearing that the 323 LX, very rare in the US, came with a 1.9L SOHC that is almost the same as the escourt wagon motor. It also came with many of the amenities that we swap out of an LX to get.

since Protege gt's 323 has the sunroof, I would be willing to bet his is a 1.9L.
I believe someone on this board had a 323 with a sunroof, and he is from North America. I have only seen pics of one of these. It was on ebay and up for sale in New Hampshire. i wish I lived closer to there as I would have grabbed it up really quick.

                  It's a 1.8L, it's rated slightly differently. (Rounded up). That's why the 1.3L is called 1.4L there.

Look at that blue 323, the first pic of it. Thats a mean looking Protege/323 if ive ever seen one!!! Anyone Know where to get those eye lids that are on the blue 323??
I'd have to agree that the Pakfeifer kit is the best, but it's expensive. Very expensive. And it's very fragile. Any little tap cracks it. I've repaired it 3 times.

some bodykit materials aren't that much fun. i know some kits are using a impact composites. it just a rethink in the make up of a well known composite, ie fiberglass. It can actually take an impact, similiar to impact plastics.

I'd be cool if a GTR replica kit came into production soon.

My rear bumper is made of composite fiberglass... Before putting it on my car I was able to twist it around onto itself and it didn't crack in the least. Also, it's mega light. The original reason for using fiberglass is that it's lighter than urethane and plastic. When it's done right, like my rear. When it's done lasily, like the Pakfeifer front, it weighs 5 times the weight of the stock bumper because it'S 2 inches thick.

Too bad there aren't any carbon fiber bodykits for the protege as it would be the lightest but I have not heard of the durability of carbon fiber though
