You wouldn't notice any difference with higher octane unless you advanced your timing more.

well, there is a good chance i wont be doing that as 91 is back up to $1.17

yesterday i got busy... i installed a red mazda valve cover off of neumans gtx i bought from him , i installed the intake manifold off of the gtx, i fixed an oil leak, fixed a vaccuum leak, the clip to the idle stuff under the throttle body was unclipped and has been for god knows how long so now it runs like it is supposed to (idle at about 1700 till it warms up then drops to about 1k (still kinda high)) i also installed a 2.0l starter (sounds like my old gti ) the water lines need to be rerun, they are kinda tangled up right now (i just wanted to get it together i had been working on it for like 7 hrs, one of the nuts on the intake manifold holding the lower half on to the head rounded off... so i ended up gettting my sawzall out and cutting that runner off completely so i actually had room to work and have more of a straight shot on the nut... i got it

my car as she sits now... the late night drag racing numbers still on it (im one lazy bastid ) its funny because now that i have a number that i can tell people how fast it is, no joke EVERYONE i have told has given me more respect and we all know 14.7 is still not even fast for a gtx... one guy at napa said "WOW, i take back everything i ever said about your little escort, thats a respectable number, i didnt think it had it in it" he then gave me his employee discount on the stuff i was buying and knocked 12 bucks off my 30 dollar purchase

here was my creative mounting idea for this solonoid or whatever the hell it is , this mounts on the stock manifold... but not to the gtx, not only that but i didnt need one of them that was in the vics system so i mounted it to a hole that was already there for something else... it looks factory! sorta
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

i fixed my front sway bar i just went to crappy and checked for the protege endlinks, didnt have them in stock and they were $13. checked for an escort gt, had 7 in stock and they were only $6 a side!!!

so needless to say 30 mins later i had my sway bar all fixed im pretty sure i have to replace the 2 inner clamps/bushings because there's still a slight vibration in the front though. but NOTHING compared to what it was before.

fyi, Monroe replacement bushings are hella stiff!

                  JACK

i also did my friends front brakes on his 98 civic, cuz he's a noob and i already had my jacks and tools out.

Crashed it.... Then working on fixing it! haha

Here are a few things ive done...
Ive painted the rear familia Boot part the same colour as my car instead of being reflector red. I think its a visual Impovement.

Chrome Door Handles (nice cheap visual improvement)

Bumpers and door exterior trims all painted that same colour as my car instead of being black.

Removed Standard Water Catch tank and replace and moved to other side of engine bay so I can set up a cold air box.

I'll be replacing a front(l/h) wheel bearing tomorrow. That's gonna be fun. My kid and I will also be replacing his shifter, it fell through the floor, so it's off to Pick-n-Pull.
On a side note, while trying to track down the source of the noise(bearing), I found the tranny to be low on oil-2 qts. low. hope I didn't **** it up.....

I put a new upper radiator hose, changed the oil, and replaced a cracked intake hose on my sister's '93 LX.

I replaced the right bj on my car.
