              whore checking in...

...anyway, you had posted in another thread that you were concerned about using reman and/or aftermarket calipers. I wouldn't worry about it. FWIW, I just purchased a caliper for the rear of my ES and just for grins I called the dealership to see how much they got for one. $150 vs. $71 at the local parts store and they're both remans. Not even Mazda sells new ones anymore. Also consider the core charges that you'll have to eat if you don't trade an old caliper in...

As for them being aftermarket, they'll be fine (and if you buy it from the right place it'll have a lifetime warrantee, unlike one from a dealership). Think about the lawsuits that would be brought upon a company producing brake parts (arguably the most important safety items on a vehicle) if they weren't up to at least OEM quality. I've been using aftermarket remans on vehicles for years on all sorts of vehicles with no problem. I only wish they would sell rebuild kits so I could do it myself...they don't for most applications.

depends on what year, some years none did, I know for a fact 95-96 ES's do and the newer 00+ (ish, don't quote me on the exact year) ES's did also

95 to 97 all ES Proteges have 4 wheel disc brakes. At least in the US.

apparently sumitomo are the original manufacturer for mazda brakes, but i found that out after i already purchased some other brand

its alright tho, they're working just fine
