Just be happy without a payment.... whether you keep it or not.

Heh, that'd be nice. Unfortunately, voluntary surrender means I still have a payment of SOME sort, still to be determined by how much they sell it for at auction. But insurance is about $100 less per month, and the payment should also be between $100 and $200 less.

We'll see about the 1st gen... it's definitely been a possibilty I'm considering, but I don't have any money to spare at the moment and I'm really not sure how much I could get for the VW. It's a 1982 model with 168k miles on it, and even though it's in good condition there are still small problems. I'll stick with it for a little while yet.

And on that note, anyone have a 1st gen they wanna sell me for cheap?

That sucks, but I guess you have to do what you can to make it sometimes.

Don't leave the forum just because you don't own a Mazda anymore either.

its just like a repo, only you do it on good terms with the bank and they tend to work with you a bit more. You still have to deal with the auction, not knowing how much the car will go for, and still being stuck with the difference. What gets people on there credit is very few people pay the difference. THey figure why pay when i dont have the car anymore.
