Very cool. It seems like a bunch of smaller shops around here all want to be full service and do the car from start to finish. On the opposite end of the spectrum you have guys that only weld tubes and nothing else. They don't even race a car. Great welds but the cage's they design leave you wondering if they ever intended the car to turn at speeds greater than 15 MPH!

On to the endlinks. Jim what do you think of these? Sphericals are ideal but these are cheap and in my hand.

depending on everyones bushings but you might not need as many washers or you might need more. i plan on keeping the washers on as a permanent solution.

Hey Matt, unless i'm missing something, wouldn't tightening the nut/bolt the rod end has run through it at the bottom restrict it's movement? Or is that what we want?

Hard for me to explain in words.

I think I get it! You're thinking just adding washers like OEM, then tightening the bolt til it's tight enough, instead of adding spacers to lessen the showing thread count?

yes. the washers would act as the spacer on the current end link design. it would also depend on the bushing thickness.

Nope. i tested them fully tightened. the washerd help space the bearing part away from the bracket. it still has a range of motion, what we dont want it vertical motion, which it doesnt have. ill take a better picture when i get home.

Ok, cool, i'm in for pics. My brain can't figure out why it wouldn't be stopped from moving by the washers if everything was tight. The washers would be too tight around the bolt to lean back and forth, unless you made the center bore of the washers that much bigger, at which point they become a wear item. (Which i don't mind, this thing will be driven less than 5k miles a season.)

              [EDIT]
Nevermind, i got it. The movement the washers are restricting is a good thing.

Wouldn't we want lock/crush washers on the nut end, though? Or is that a nylon nut?

these certainly turned out to be pretty pieces I would suggest POR-15/equivelent rather then a powdercoat. cheaper & more durable :D

I'm thinking of getting them zinc plated with my new rear rotors. Can't imagine it'll add much weight and should provide adequate protection. No winter driving for these babies.

its a nylon nut on the end.

as you can see in this diagram, the middle portion that the bolt goes through is thinner than the rod end threads but wider than the housing. The washers are just an extra layer between the ball, the tab and the nut. it doesnt restrict any rotational movement in the ball, just lateral movement along the bolt
