Got the squirt installed, Need to finish up the wideband tomorrow after work. I'm hoping to be running by sundown tomorrow
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

Its not mounted yet. I think it will go in the glove compartment. I'll have to see how I like the wires. I don't like the stock mounting location of the ECU. I want it easily accesable and out of sight so the glove box is perfect.

Whats the best location for getting a vaccum for the MS? There is two nipples on the GTX manifold, one going to the charcole canister (I do not feel like deleting it because I don't know how) the other has my BOV and boost gauge. It would make life really simple to T into the boost gauge line inside the car

Nate, I sent you a PM about this. Also note that I put my MS under the centre console in the car and ran the serial cable to the glove box to keep things clean. So when I need to connect, I simply pull the cable from the glove box.

I may end up doing that later on but it seems to be working out. I'm not 100% happy with the mount in the glovebox. It seems to want to put the wires in a akward position.

Whats a good 5A ignition source for me to hook the wideband into?

I spliced into the big blue wire coming from the ignition switch. I'm glad I decided to because I found more of Nick's bullshi_t wiring. He had a turbo timer tapped into it with a zip tie holding the wire tight. WOW! I soldered the connection and taped it up nicely. All thats left is get a fuse block for a 5A fuse for the the wideband then I'll be able to calibrate the wideband and attempt to start it.
Squirt is in. I decided to put it in the OEM location.
I think i'm going to get a B8 harness and splice it up and take out everything I don't need.
What I don't need. Disty, IAC, TPS, stock 24 & 26 ecu pin connectors.
What the B8 and GTX do not have, VICS meaning the injector harness is 6 wires. The B8 harness will have a 3 wire disty and tps Neither I will need.

The B8 harness will work fine. If you want a really clean job, lay the harness out on the floor, identify all the things you don't need and pull all the wires out. Essentially anything to do with engine control or solenoid control you won't need. You will be left with a very clean looking piece and perhaps 5-7 wires in that harness.

That big blue wire is one I kept, one of its purposes is to provide 12V to the ignition coil.

That's exactly what I did last week, took my old B8 harness and took everything I don't need out of it. Will try to take pics this week. The extra wire for the FPR solenoid could be used for boost control.

Question though... What's the purpose of the 4th wire from the disty? The B8 only has 3 so I'm wondering whether i need to add it. I will be running stock ignition to begin with but would like to switch to wasted spark or COPS eventually.

The 4th wire is the "home" or start of injection wire on the DOHC. The DOHC has a 4-1 CAS wheel whereas the SOHC only has the 4 slots for each timing event. Unfortunately the MS code is not made to work with a 4-1 CAS wheel the way Mazda intended it to so only the "4" part of the wheel is used in the DOHC as well.

Thanks Alex, I'll keep it as is then with just 3 wires

I would keep the 4 wires just in case you ever want to run COP or Wasted spark since you can use the Miata 4/2 CAS.
