I don't even know what EDIS is but I do know i've read a lot of people having problems with it.

Also: She started. She is idleing with 10.1 afr's also i'm noticing a tick that was not there before. I did not rev the engine for fear of messing something up
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

      Electronic Distribtorless Ignition System
Supported by MS ,Use a high power coil, module from Ford Escort,
Any way check to make sure your using the digital connection from the WB and not the analog one ,That phuked me up good at first, ran pig rich and A/F was way off.

awe hell I shouldn't have asked. I've always wondered if the BP would run off the distributerless setup. I'm never going to be done with this car.

The WB has 2 wires a yellow and a brown, is one digital and one analog or are they both analog and the plugs are digital?

LOL worst part of it was adapting the 36-1 tooth wheel to the harmonic balancer/pulley assembly.
Serious check the wideband connection to MS ,the LC1 has two and their not the same.

            Use brown (#2)
and be sure MS is told you are using LC1 in the set up.

Is the tick coming from the engine? It could be the lifters that have sat for a while.

Try giving it a bit of gas and seeing if the A/F gauge in MS changes. The wideband setup in MS is in the configurator under car1 pulldown. You should use the brown wire and connect it to the pink MS wire. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just running rich. Does it smell rich?

Your Req_Fuel variable might be a little too high. Get familiar with all the variables ... it's the only way to start tuning and the info is all in the megamanual.

I am getting a scary amount of tick coming from the head. It seems to be coming from the intake cam. I let the car idle for a while today and it did not go away.

It has a very strange smell.
When I switched the pink wire to the brown the gauge in MT was maxxed out on 20 afr.

Have you set the timing yet?

At idle if you are too lean it will pop out the exhaust and just smell rich if you are too rich. It will not detonate at idle - there's no load.

In megatune under Tuning --> Real Time Display. What is your O2 reading there?

I just had a lifter completely collapse on me so it's ticking like a bitch and not going away so I bought brand new ones and I am swapping them in this weekend. Should never have put in cleaned lifters in a brand new engine.

its not pingin is it?timing too far advanced?
do you have timing +/- control in MS?
                    Try backing it off

A car won't ping at idle.

Unless the advanced ign. timing is causing a high enough idle that the pcm is advancing the timing and thus causing a ping. The engine is actually above idle rpm and the computer/distribitor is begining to advance the timing.

I've had some quite advanced ignition at idle ... even in the 20s and there was no ping. There is just not enough load on the motor.

In order for it to be an audible ping the idle RPM must be very high and the timing way far advanced.I suppose the argument may lye in what is considered to be high and still be in Idle range some say ping comes on at 1800-2000 .Sometimes noise is another internal component such as a loose piston pin or collapsing lash adjuster and even though your not hearing a "ping" the fact that the fuel charge is being burnt too early and excessive load is being applied to the engine as the piston is actually being forced in the wrong direction, the other weak/damaged componets are taking up the slack and causing a noise.Spark knock or ping may not be the issue but over advanced timing and a bad component can make noise .To say a car wont ping at idle ~700-800 rpm is fundamenatally a true statement and it is not my intention to discredit it.
I would like to point out however that perhaps the idle RPM could be excessive and the fact that we have introduced a variable such as MS that is capable of adjustment outside the normal range then he could in fact be experienceing a ping or at the very least a ping type of sound.
Nates tick may or may not be related to timing I just wanted to point out the possability.

I had to wait till this afternoon to get my laptop back. I changed back over to the brown (wideband) wire. The yellow wire is a simulated narrowband.
I'm getting a very rich idle. I decided to take it around the block today. I logged it. No pinging so thats a plus. It seems to have rich AFRs cruising.
Under WOT its showing around 10.5 afrs
