Umm, I don't think so. Do you know how horrible those cars were in terms of handling? Or saftey? or reliability? or durability? or how about ergonomics? wheels in the 15" sizes where no good tires are offered...

This is true, but there's another big difference... a small car with 700hp will go a lot faster than a big car with 700hp. The big v8's (or v10's for the viper) weigh a lot more, and the cars they go in are a lot bigger and heavier. So the power rating is relative.

I drove one of those at the Autoshow in Motion that was here at the Pomona Fairplex this past Sunday (2004-02-01). W-H-A-T a frickin' car. Sounds wicked. Looks wicked. Awesome handling. LS1. Beautiful interior.
I -almost- get hard thinking about that car. (...and I'm not the kind of guy to get a stiffy over a car.)

Somewhere ~$38k after shipping and freight charges. Hahaha. I actually thought about getting rid of both my Mazda and Datsun and just getting one of these.
(I'll keep dreaming for now. )

I did get to drive the new Corvette, too, but I'd rather have a GTO. I think the GTO would turn more heads than the Corvette.
