pull the cap of and doublecheck the distributor rotor is in the right place. if you mark the dissy body with a grease pen for cylinder one, turn the crank till its at TDC and check to make sure the rotor button in on your mark, if not move the rotor

also double check your grounds. stock should be :

one from the trans to the driverside rail, the big black one in the harness to the trans. one that has 6-7 small black wires right up against the firewall on the driverside rail, and one from the passengerside rail to the block.

also charge the battery and do a compression test, if i recall correctly it should be in the 170-190 range with no cylinder more than 10% lower than an adjacent cylinder.

Good job you and ryan. Lifters always tick when the motor hasn't been started in a while and they have to be pumped back up with oil and they'll be fine.

dump the crappy plugs, hell i want to put new iridiums in the mx3, i can give you the old ones just to get by. does the car want to accelerate at all? think the VAF is faulty? swap in the S-code and try that one, any engine codes?

Id like to ditch the plugs but ive got no money.. and with the timing at 16* acceleration is a bit lacking.. and i dont think the VAF is bad.. but hey what do i know.. well I get off work at 530 and ryan said i should come down there.. well lets hope i make it.. lol

I haven't really looked at it yet. and I've got no idea if its original. I got the engine from a junkyard.
