Yeah that pic is deceiving, the seat is back as far as it will go---so with Chuck in there, it's further forward---if I go back too much further, the rear passengers are going to have issues getting in and out.

That makes sense then. Can't wait to make it out to see in person again. Crossing my fingers for Gorman next month and bringing my recce car out.

Been a while since I've had anything worth posting---got the parts too build the coilovers---a generic kit, some Ksport camber plates for the front and I've got a ton of Eibach springs around. They're going on top of ford motorsport struts. Also finished up the mainhoop (except for harness bar---waiting to see where the seats mounted for height)---fit's in the protege/escort/323---all the same dimensions!

you know, I'm going to have to get off my ass and hurry up with my 4WD project. I might have to get two of those, one for my escort wagon also!

Got the seats made with custom logo's for the race team---first time I've put a "true" offroad seat in a rallycar...He's racing the escort this weekend by the way---with a new 4.92 final drive in the gearbox!!

I rode in an Eclipse, during a rally cross, with Beard suspension seats, not the right car for those seats. The Protege should have a better roof line hieght.

The eclipse isn't right for anyone over about 5'4 to drive---and you have to section the trans tunnel to get the seat centered on the wheel! Finally got the coilover kit's to work on your old Ford Motorsport struts---had to pop the cap off to get the sleeve over and then machine the top hat's for the strut bearing, but over all it worked nicely. Wasn't able to make the Ksport camber plates work though---not enough thread at the top...

Which Ford Motorsport struts are those? The only one's I've seen are the 45mm inverted damper ones made by Dynamic Suspensions with Hyperco springs. pretty short-travel, too, around 4 inches, made for tarmac as far as I know. I need to hurry up and install them on something.

How readily available are the long-travel ones you have?

I may have spoken too soon---they are 45mm shafts (had to open up the hats big time---They seem to have about 7" of front travel and 8" of rear----I wonder if they're ZX2 stuff---JRally knows, I'll ask him.
