They are the Escort ZX2 Ford Motorsports struts. Nothing extra special, just revalved Tokico struts, valving specified by FMS engineers. As for not getting the front camber plates to work, not a big deal. Those top mounts are Mazda Motorsport top mounts, should hold up great. I jumped the Escort with them without issue, Rim and Gorman '07.

Actually after seeing those these shafts are 25mm---not 45mm---had to mill a 1" hole in the top hat to make them fit over the shaft/strut bearing. What are you gonna do with those???

I'm going to take the ZX2 S/R/Eibach combo off of my wagon and put it on my 323, then those get to go on the wagon. Along with all the other go-fast-bits I've got piled up. Then go to some tracks and start putting PWNED stickers on Evos and STi's.

And I found the perfect donor for some nice wide fender flares! Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon!!!!! They're made for the right size tire, although they are a touch more squared-off than the ford/mazda ones are. But I matched them up to the openings on my 323 the other day after getting my windows tinted (shop owner had a GLH parked in there, and a couple spare fenders sitting around) and they were VERY close to the right size.

A2 Golf flares fit the Omni, might be another good source, certainly more plentiful. I helped restore an Omni GLH rally Dodge factory rally car about 8 years ago. It has run about 3 stages since we put over 6 months of work into it.

It'll be a tight fit for 4 big guys, but certainly doable with some rollbar padding/helmets!

looks great! i've never sat in a 1 piece race seat before, whats it like comfort wise? is it just for safety that they're 1 piece?

It's basically just extra insurance that the seat won't fold in half during the race...it still amazes me that it's' even an issue in a recce car.... I used to running recce in my street car which is lower and stiffer. (tarmac set up)

Exactly---these are super comfortable because they're offroad seats---tons of padding with much less support than the rally/race seats. They're perfect for a recce car I guess. It would be nice to just have a recce car period instead of the back seat of someone's tow vehicle with beef jerky, empty cans and grassrootmotorsport magazines sliding around...

they do sound mighty comfortable haha, so a Recce car is a tarmac rally car? I'm not use to the race talk here...which is sad considering i plan on getting into some racing next year haha.

Recce is short for reconnaissance. It's the car you drive on stage at slower speeds to make your stage/pace notes. Up here we have a max speed of 35mph (or the road's speed limit), and can do 2 passes.

Think pre-running a race, at a normal speed, that's recce. Chuck just wanted really comfortable seats that would hold a bit side to side, when bouncing around off-road. That kind of race seat is normally found in serious off-road use vehicles, think Baja race trucks or sand dune cars. The bonus is their on road comfort as well. Down side is that they take up a lot of space in a small car.
Most people use their service trucks for recce. Myself, it is normally the truck, but now I've got a second option and Chuck thought that sounded like a great idea. Of course, racing an Escort GT, having a recce car with parts that swap on makes more sense. I went with the crazy project route instead.
