Well today I got the turbo mx3 transmission issue figured out. If you all remember I changed out the 1.6 F trans for the 1.8 G seris trans. The car has the bp26 motor swap. I guess the first G seris we tried was the wrong trans for some reason cause the LX protege axle wouldnt fit in the trans. So we swapped out that trans for a 94 LX protege G seris and used a Escort ZX-2 axle for the drivers side and that solved our axle problem. The car now drives perfectly with the G seris trans and now we dont have to worry about blowing the stock mx3 trans anymore.

Replaced the water pump, timing belt and front crank oil seal on the SOHC, nothing on the DOHC. Lotsa work, but I saved myself at least a couple hundred bucks. Oh, also changed the oil. Wiped down the dust in the engine bay so it looks nice next time I check my oil at the gas station.

Yeah tell me about it. Shes got 170k on the clock and still pulls to redline and gets 30-38 mpg lol better then my 95 that has 129k on the clock! So when i still had one plug out i shined a light into the chamber and the piston is black too. Probably the rings.

PS: The plugs weren't covered covered in oil like dipped in it but they were very black. I'll put up a pic tonight when i get home from work if i remember!

Hey Snoogy17, I was having a similar issue as yours over the weekend, where my '94 pro DX would sputter bad at idle and when slowing down to a stop my RPMs would drop way down at times shutting the engine off. During takes off she would sputter like mad also. I figured it was a fuel problem but checked my fuel delivery, injectors, etc and nothing. So I went back to the basics and replaced the ignition coil along with the mouting bolts as one was missing and two were missing from the fuse box next to the coil, did a tune up by replacing wires, plugs, cap, rotor. Seems to have solved the problem as she runs like a top with no sputter, after that I figure it was more of a misfire issue as the wires were really old and cap/rotor looked very worn. or a grounding issue as the coil and fuse box were not properly secured. Good luck Bro!

From what I was told(if they are the same ones) they are a cheaper alternative to the ksports. That's about all the info I have on them though.
OK.. THAT ****ER NEEDS TO COME OUT OF HIDING SOONER OR LATER.

                                ok well, thats me :D

but I'm a newbie and I just "hit up all the OG's of the forums" for the support i needed with these cars. I was a relatively new member, didnt know much about these cars at the time. I acquired a mazda after many years of Nissans and Hondas.

I'm more about suspension than anything and the idea of zx2's with ground controls just didnt fly with me as the best alternative for these cars.

I go to taiwan about every 6 months or so and have been contacting some companies there.. I did a little research and started cross referencing cars (as a lot of them are sold as fords) right now

There are a lot of companies in taiwan and only few which are reputable suspension makers. I took a look at AURFAs, they resemble something very similar in the states, but to maintain proper industry etiqutte (as I work in the automotive performance industry), I'm not going to say any names. They are used a lot in taiwan and have had good reviews.

I can't say the same about K-sports. I personally aren't very fond of them, but that was just my opinion

If anything happens this will be a joint venture between, me, Steve, and Chris, as both of them are going to be doing most of the R&D for me.

There are 1 or 2 "modifications" I want to have made to the design of these to perfect them. Now it all depends if the owner of AURFA is willing to since protege's are still kind of a small market.

As far as pricing goes, no guarantees yet, but you're looking at a ballpark of $600-700ish

                                Specs
They work with with the stock BG upper mounts on both the front and rear (according to steve).

They come with an 8/6 spring rate (448/336 i believe in standard measurements).

They are both height and preload adjustable.

Another model is available with a 6 way adjustable dampener, but is about $200 more.

The owner of the company did not want to use pillow upper mounts due to the ****ty roads in taiwan and premature wear of the upper mounts. There will be another manufacturer i will keep contact with which do make these with upper mounts (however their prices are higher).

Anyways I'm attending my last semester in college, and school are work are rather hectic right now, so this process will take a little time. I still need to work out pricing and warranty issues with the manufacturer(s).

For anyone that are interest, keep in contact with Steve as he is the one testing out the setup for me (since he knows the cars a lot better than I do).

I want to thank Steve (TurboProto), Chris (turpro), Jo (Jho) for their constant support.

For the rest of the members, we're trying our best to make this happen for you guys.
