wow thats pretty spendy esp if its going on a 1.5. you should consider doing a NA 1.8 swap 1st then a turbo. Better platform to build on but to each their own. (just like pocket bikes i guess.)

Are the prices in canadian currency or in us currency. Cause thats expensive for a kit. I'm sure you can find a local place to do it for near that price if not cheaper.

YUP, Thats in US dollars. But when I talked to him the kit was still under construction, from what I understand the kit will be on their website (but you can get it now) at the end of this year, so the price might be lower, it all depends what you want.

Heh, I guess it did sound too good to be true. I hope he don't say the same thing about the turbo kit for the 1.8l

Yeah, injectors...man I feel bad for you.

Not 100%, but probably an o-ring or something.

you dont need to replace the injectors, just the o-ring's, so no not at all.

does this kit really produce 55 hp? there is a turbo kit for the mx-3 (what i own now) for $2000 only produces an extra 15% over stock engines so its only about 15-20 hp gain

i dont understand.... you paid them to make your kit and you've had nothing but problems with it...

he shouldnt have let the car leave if it has overheating/idling/sputtering/coolant leaking/fuel leaking issues....

to me, that is an incomplete.. half assed job

i understand that custom setups are not going to be 100% as reliable as an OEM naturally aspired motor... but this is just ridiculous

does he not do testing before he releases the kit? test drive it... different gears, rpms, throttle positions... let it go up to operating temperature and back down... a few times... highway testing... stop and go testing...

this is a very mild turbo setup you have, these kinks should have been worked out for you before you got the car back.

^^ That's kinda my thoughts on getting a custom kit made at a shop also. ES should've taken the time to make sure their product will last.
