It cost me $50 to get the dyno.

Here are some little tidbit about the dyno run and my car:
              1) I have no tach so the guy went by how it felt from gear 1->2->overdive off (3)
              2) The dyno machine worked by taking of the fron wheels and hooking up the machine to wheel assebmbly
              3) Still getting a little over 32 mpg highway ~30 city
              4) Pre-cat is useless and throwing check engine light
              5) After putting the cat back on I did notice pic up at higher speeds

For some reason, I still don't believe my car is that patheticly slow. I guess I'm in the denial stage.

I was going to suggest that the $50 would have been better spent on matches and gas...if you get my drift.

I want to know what the dyno operator was thinking after the run.

Those tend to read higher than a standard roller dyno, you don't have the rotating mass of wheels and tires to lower your horsepower/torque numbers.

The operator was actually a lot nicer than a lot of you guys. He actually told me that an auto tranny can give you a 30% loss from the number manufacturers post and that the numbers posted are w/o a tranny (Think that's what he said). A few people smiled when I knew they wanted to laugh but that's expected.

I appreciate you guys keeping it real and all but damn. Oh well people have their opinions and they're free to voice them. That's what makes this forum exist. I'm not going to go flame crazy. I know what I need to work on and I'm going to set out to do it.

I still like my ride, I will eventually get the motor swap and tranny swap and go racing. So eventually people will be eating my dust. And whoever I beat I'll let them know that my car started out at 59.1 hp and that should make them feel worse than me after this stupid dyno run.

I heard from some people that this particular setup produced high and low numbers (inconsistent). ?? Dunno what the truth is.

I would watch that 4th cly. Not sure if any thing is related but my car died in 10k miles from when i noticed my 4th cly was going bad. Now sitting in my yard as some odd looking lawn gnome, with zero compression in all 4 clys.

It was some sort of odd cancer that would spread to all the clys in a matter of months. The mech ended up saying it was some stuck valve in #4, but it ended up being rings... Idiot.

Though I didnt have the money to really do anything to it to get it fixed anyway, so I drove it as hard as I originaly did.

Before it died though, it had barly enough comp to turn over the engine. Once it got started, I have to say i was shocked that i was still getting 30mpg average, and being able to top out at 117mph.

Not that anything I said has anything to do with this topic.
