    a few things:
you ideally want 440 stainless steel ball , you want the camber plate slotted & the bearing insert hole drilled in a line.
the nut that goes through the bearing & tightens the strut in place must be of mild steel or harder. you cannot use aluminum. you'll pull it right through

ryan is there a diameter difference from BF-BG strut shaft tops? if not then just get normal ones

I will splurge on the bearings if all is good with the build. The ones I bought have chromoly races and are better than average but not awesome.
I will do slots on the plates UHG thats gonna be a bee-otch.
Aluminum nut? The thing in the pic is the stock for the bushing between the insert shaft and the bearing, its threaded so that it wont slop around ,the nut will of-course be the ones supplied with the inserts.I think they are made out of spentium er something. Thanks for your input,i really do appreciate it ,im still very new at the tuning/mod thing and the forum has been uber valuable.
BTW cuscos JP website is good for finding out stock shaft sizes because you can x-reference the upper strut mounts to their respective bearing nut sizes to give you thread pitch and diameter.
Can someone please verify pimp for me

i can't remeber i will have to compare, the strut mount on the bf's for the front are only a 2 bolt instead of the bg 4 bolt. my set-up is bg struts and coilovers, bg outer tie rods, bf swaybar,bf c-arms, and ball joints.
i will not be able to compare the parts for about another week cause the garage i use is getting used for a big rummage sale.

buy BF cusco mounts.... if your already using BG struts then you know the shaft diameter is equal with your BF mounts

wow this is a great custom setup so the bg struts are the same as bha sturts?

Well as far as the rear spindles go you can bolt either BG or BHA strut bodies to either spindle. The OD of the tube that the insert goes inside is smaller on the BG.I switched to BHA strut bodies earlier on.
The fit i real close though with the konis and the BG tubes and i think it may have worked if the BG tubes could be honed.I was able to fit the Koni inside approx 2-3" in the BG tube but it got too tight. It was easier for me to go to the BHA GR2 struts as doners for the bodies because i had a set to play with.
plus the fact that the GR2's have the rear sway bar link tabs allready on them.
I hope this answers your question ,if not hit me up again for more exacting info and ill do my best to answer.

Edit I reckon you could use BHA struts bodies on you BG at least in the rear if going the insert route.
However you would need BG upper mounts that can handle the 14mm threaded shaft of the Konis.

                                Royal Canadian Mounts

Time for another update,The bearings took a little while to get here so the project has been in limbo.
I was able to spend a few hours on the mounts today .Pictured is the 2 pc bearing mount sitting under the upper plate.
The bearing mount is made from 1/2 thick aluminum upper and lower blocks.
The upper one is longer to accomodate the future slots in the upper plate.
The bearing is sandwiched between the two blocks .There is a steel bushing for the bearing to keep the grease in the channel around the outside of the bearing.Tomorrow i hope to drill the bolt holes that keep the blocks together and drill a hole for the grease channel.I want put a gease fitting on the top block .The top and bottom of the bearing mount may need to be chamfered to allow full movement.
